West Tech Shipping is seeking an experienced Security Guard to join our team at our Church Street location in Saint Kitts. This role is responsible for the safety and security of our staff, customers, cargo, and premises, ensuring a safe environment throughout business hours and during opening and closing procedures.

The ideal candidate is alert, disciplined, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and the judgement to handle security matters calmly and professionally.

Job Duties:

• Be present and on post at the start of every shift, ensuring the premises are secure before opening

• Monitor and control access to the premises, screening persons and vehicles entering and exiting

• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or security incidents, and escalate serious matters to management

• Maintain a visible, professional presence to promote a safe and secure environment for staff and customers

• Log and report all incidents, unusual occurrences, or safety hazards to management in a timely manner

• Support staff with maintaining order during busy periods or customer disputes

• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by the Store Supervisor/Manager

Job Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar security guard role

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in high-pressure or confrontational situations

• Physically able to stand, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods

• Flexible with the ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled

• Clean police record/certificate of good character

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Disciplined, punctual, and dependable
