About The Job

The Runner / Cargo Assistant supports both cargo operations and in-store processing, ensuring that all packages are properly cleared, received, verified, and organized. This role also involves assisting with customs clearance, working alongside brokers, and maintaining strong relationships at the ports to ensure timely processing of shipments.

This position requires someone who is organized, proactive, physically capable, and committed to delivering excellent service to both customers and team members.

Job Duties

Cargo & Operations:

• Assist with clearing and collecting cargo from air and seaports

• Ensure all shipments are cleared within required timelines

• Verify and reconcile packages upon arrival

• Retrieve invoices and assist with customs documentation

• Support brokers and team members with cargo processing

• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within required timeframes

Runner / In-Store Duties:

• Receive, scan, and accurately enter all packages into the system

• Sort and organize packages for easy retrieval

• Perform daily inventory counts and report discrepancies

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storeroom

• Ensure efficient workflow to minimize customer wait times

Customer Service Support:

• Assist customers with basic queries when required

• Support front-end operations during busy periods

• Accurately process cash and card transactions when needed

• Represent the company professionally at all times

Job Requirements

• Proven customer service experience (at least 1 year)

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without strain.

• Able to provide a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.

• Well spoken, with an outgoing and friendly personality.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize time effectively.

• Ability to assist with the clearing, sorting and packing of cargo in store

• Flexible with the ability to work on weekends.

• Ability to provide accurate, valid and comprehensive information to customers, by applying the right knowledge

• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to follow up on resolutions

• Ensure cargo workflow procedures are followed with maximum efficiency

• Perform inventory counts as needed

• Ability to maintain high levels of productivity and focus in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies

• Disciplined and focused worker.

• CXC passes in Mathematics and English.
