Driver / Cargo Assistant

About the Job..

This is a dual role for one exceptional individual. Do note this role has a greater focus on cargo assistant, heavy lifting and sorting of cargo duties, than on driving. Driving is the secondary duty not the main duty.

The Driver / Cargo Assistant is reliable, responsible and concerned with the safety and satisfaction of customer packages.  The ideal candidate is also organized, competent and comfortable dealing with people, due to possessing excellent communication skills. Working diligently with a focus on carrying out daily duties with accuracy and speed, to ensure operations run smoothly, is also essential to the role.

• Responsible for clearing, sorting and packing cargo instore to their proper locations at all times.

• Ensure that cargo workflow procedures are followed with maximum efficiency.

• Assisting with the verifying of all packages at the various facilities you work at in a timely manner.

• Perform inventory counts as needed.

• Deliver cargo to various locations in a safe and timely manner. 

• Ensure that all cargo is handled in a safe and professional manner.

• Work closely with the Customer Service team providing continuous updates on cargo operations and any issues which may potentially impact customers.

• Ensure the company's vehicle is driven safely at all times, within the stipulated laws of the country.

• Follow company communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.

ABOUT YOU

• 3+ years driving experience.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.

• Valid manual driver's license for light goods vehicles up to 10 tons.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexible, adaptable and strong, with the ability to work on weekends.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good patience and professionalism.

• Organized and reliable.

• Ability to work to deadlines through prioritization of tasks
