Cargo Assistant

About the Job..

This is a role for high energy, positive and focused individuals as it requires heavy lifting and sorting of cargo, during day, evening and weekend shifts.

Cargo Assistants must also be reliable, responsible and concerned with the safety and security of customer packages above all else.  The ideal candidate is also organized, competent, capable and comfortable dealing with people, due to possessing excellent communication skills. This is also essential as cargo assistants regularly represent the company during cargo clearance and loading at the ports, where good working relationships with port and Customs personnel is vital to timely, cost-effective cargo clearance.

Other Key Duties of Cargo Assistants Include:

• Clearing, sorting and packing cargo instore in accordance with the established inventory management system.

• Efficient verification of all packages at our facilities.

• Daily inventory counts to verify stock.

• Assisting with the delivery of cargo to various locations in a safe and timely manner.

ABOUT YOU

• Ability to lift up to 80lbs throughout a work shift.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexible, adaptable and strong, with the ability to work on evening and weekends as scheduled.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good patience and professionalism.

• Organized and reliable.

• Ability to work to deadlines through prioritization of tasks/duties.
